Chances are that if you have read either James Gabler’s Passions: The Wines and Travels of Thomas Jefferson (1995) or Jon Hailman’s Thomas Jefferson on Wine (2009) you are aware of the list of wines served at the White House by Thomas Jefferson.  This list of “Wine provided at Washington” appears upside-down at the end of the Thomas Jefferson account book, 1791-1803.  The list is a chronology of wines served at The President’s House from 1801 through 1808.  It includes such selections as his pipes of Brazil Madeira and 1755 Lacryma Christi.  I had never seen images of the actual list until I recently noticed the account book at The New York Public Library Digital Collections.  I think it is quite cool so thought I would share the images with you.  I do recommend you use the NYPL book reader for they have higher-resolution images.
