2007 Domaine Grand Veneur, Reserve, Cotes du Rhone

I am always happy to find enjoyable wines around the $10 price point.  This wine is imported by Kysela Pere et Fils.  Purchased for $11 from MacArthurs, this wine that was recommended by Phil comes from the strong 2007 vintage and a producer that makes high-quality and well priced wines.  This cuvee is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Cinsault.

This wine sports a darker blue and red fruit notes.  There are some minerals that stand out in this mature wine that leaves the impression of having a bit of everything.  It is agentle wine that has slight and interesting foxiness, some dark goodness, and tannins to boot.  There is a light to medium bodied mouthfeel.  This is actually a great value.  I  do not see any need to hold on to this any longer.  *** Now.
